Dispatches from the Israeli front – Thursday pm

    Jul 18, 2014 4 Comments
On Wednesday kids from Gan Yavne enjoyed some respite from sirens & booms, reports Rolene, “by spending time in Modiin's municipal pool. The city of Modiin is opening its arms to our Iron Dome soldiers as well, feeding them and doing their laundry as they cannot leave their towers.” As Roro says, Israelis are remarkably resilient, warm and generous … one thing is for sure, this plucky little country is the very example of grace under pressure.

Some very smart people were taken in – Read the hoax mail.

BONITA LYNETTE, an expat-SA Israeli mom, wrote what has become the top read of the week on SAJR Online – on the emotions she felt as she sent her son off to war. It garnered over 1,000 reads within a day of its exclusive publication on this website. That very same day, she was saved by an Iron Dome missile on her way to her bank job in Tel Aviv.
