HAMAS INVITED TO OPEN SHOP IN SA: Who will foot the bill? Khaled Meshaal and other senior members of Hamas have met with Pres Jacob Zuma to discuss opening offices in SA. For the ANC to welcome Hamas to SA "is a moral outrage, and disgraces the memory of Nelson Mandela,” said Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein, Ambassador Arthur Lenk said Hamas was the only one to blame for the Israeli-Palestinian stand-off. Hamas in SA – not just a Jewish problem

Last Sunday the ANC told SA that Hamas had come calling. “Clearly having anticipated the reaction to the visit,” writes HOWARD FELDMAN, the government chose to keep from its citizens. Zuma met Mashal before anyone had time to object. “The clandestine nature of the visit in (and) of itself is enormously telling and one that ought to be noted, along with the very nature of Hamas itself.” Says Howard: "The ANC, it seems, has no idea who they are dealing with."
