I read and review many books, many on Jewish and Middle East issues and would like to write up an article on this book pertaining to  anti-Semitism in the Middle East

I would be thrilled to win a copy of the book I worked with Jenny Dr Karabus's wife many years ago and had heard of Dr Karabus through her Just remembering his kindness and  compassion to his young patients and the vast knowledge he has of the illness he has treated for many years leaves me in absolute horror of how he was treated in the Emirates I followed the case dilligently and was thrilled when Dr Karabus was released

I would like to find out more why a doctor who wanted to help in an  Arab country was persecuted unnecessarily.

I would be very keen to read the book - I heard Prof Karabus talk at Limmud and was most interested in his perspective. The story is one of travesty of justice - a good man, persecuted for reasons that I struggle to understand. I also read Suzanne Belling's book The Travelling Rabbi and enjoyed it.

It seems to me Larry, that the only reason a Jewish doctor should want to help in an Arab country could primarily be for financial rewards. Am I wrong?

We in East London are pretty cut off from Jewish Life and any visiting Jewish speakers. We did not have the opportunity to hear Prof Karabus’s talks on his awful experiences and I would therefore very much appreciate receiving a copy of the book.  I would be able to pass it on to other people here. I followed the story of the Professor with great concern and interest through media information.  I wondered what the Prof really endured and his family that was beyond the information available through media news. I am grateful for his release and for his being able to share his story

This is one of those books that will break open the 'silence' of the Arab-ruled countries, as well as the cases that were under court proceedings. Finally we get to hear the account of a man, who was persecuted, despite giving life to so many. I am looking forward to reading this gripping account. 0795250075

I followed the story closely as a doctor. The circumstances were tragic and so stressful for his family. I certainly would be proud to own the book.

When a person shares a part of their life by writing their story in a book, they do it because there must be something for others to learn from, grow from and even better identify with the trials and challenges of the other. Though overseas (Israel), I was able to keep up with the majority of the happenings with the Professor. It would now be wonderful to be able to read the whole story from the direct subjective view of the Professor himself and stand to learn and gain so much more about what he went through and how he overcame the immense challenges he surely went through.
