    Bafana Modise, pictured in Israel, left SA hoping he and his 14 ranking ANCYL and BDS colleagues would come home alive from their SAIF-hosted Mideast educational visit last month. Now, he says, having seen the reality vs. the SA media portrayal they had faced, he would feel quite safe and comfortable to travel to Israel and/or the Palestinian territories alone. Ironically, the travellers went just weeks after President Zuma had called on ANC members for the first time not to travel to Israel.     Wits management adopt tough stand on BDS

    The management of Wits have made a clear statement on the fact that BDS-supporting “student leaders deliberately misled the management of the University” and the campus’ Palestinian Solidarity Committee lied to administration they got the orienteering club to book main lawns – pre-publicity.     Ninety-two-year old Shimon Peres is a living legend, and Johannesburg Jewry thronged to hear him speak at the Sandton Convention Centre on Sunday night. Peres was twice Israeli Prime Minister (1984-1986 and 1995-1996), President (2007-2014) and a Nobel Peace Prize winner (1994). In this picture by Ilan Ossendryver, Peres sits with Israeli Ambassador to SA Arthur Lenk. Ossendryver, who is Jewish Report's official photographer, once served in the same capacity for Shimon Peres himself!
