    It was like chalk and cheese as the Johannesburg’s memorial service for Shimon Peres was a poorly-attended event while Cape Town Jewry came out in droves. The short notice and an evening of big planned events like matric dances, school plays and other community affairs in both cites drew many who would otherwise have attended the service. Pictured is SAZF National Chairman Ben Swartz who delivered a eulogy at King David School Linksfield.

    'Terror twins' abandon bail app, trial to start Nov 4

    Thulsie twins accused of plotting terror attacks on Jewish and American interests in SA for ISIS abandoned bail applications this week but pressed for trial date in three weeks in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court. High Court application to review legality of arrest ruling in August is reportedly still active and to be heard by two judges who are awaiting outstanding transcripts. Terror case is, however, set to start in three weeks.
