From the sober, solemn introspection of the Aseret Yemei Teshuva – the ten days of repentance that culminate with Yom Kippur – through to the special joyousness that characterises Sukkot, it is a time of spiritual growth, celebration and mutual goodwill. This is the time for the proverbial “wiping of the slate” preparatory to embarking on a new stage of life in a spirit of hope and positivity.
