One of the better known, but on reflection, more unusual statements that we make at the Seder must be the opening paragraph of the Maggid section. In it we declare “Ha Lachma Anya - This is the bread of affliction which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt.” We then proceed to extend an invitation: “Let all who are hungry come and eat it.”

Tonight I want to tell you a story. It's a story that began in a narrow, dark land where we knew our names but forgot who we were. It's a story of how we lost our way and fell until we reached a place where we could no longer speak. A place where we couldn't stay where we were, but didn't yet know how to leave.

Finally the day we've been waiting for arrives. I don't think it's a stretch to say that everyone has a warm place in their heart for Purim, be it dressing up, or giving gifts of shalach manos, to saying some l’chaims. We also listen to the Megillah, which relates the account of the Purim story.

The masks we wear on Purim - and on Facebook

The Talmud teaches us that just like no two people look the same, similarly no two people think alike. Today’s society is all too quick to judge what personalities are acceptable. We decide who fits in with our society and we deem who is a misfit on the basis that they may act differently to us.
