Obama on nuke deal: I’ll ‘stand by’ Israel

    Apr 06, 2015 2 Comments
US Pres pitches for Iran deal in interview with New York Times Saturday. He acknowledged legitimacy of Israel’s concerns about Iran. Noting Iran’s leadership’s Holocaust denial & repeated threats to eliminate Israel, Obama reiterated that a negotiated agreement was the “best bet” to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. “There is no formula, there is no option, to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon that will be more effective than the diplomatic initiative & framework that we put forward - and that’s demonstrable,” Obama said.

Bibi slams Iran nuke deal on US news

    Apr 06, 2015 2 Comments
“The entire world celebrated the deal with North Korea," Bibi told NBC’s Meet the Press. It was deemed to be a great breakthrough. "It would bring an end to North Korea’s nuclear programme; you’d have inspectors. That would do the job. And of course everybody applauded it," he said. But it turned out to be a "very, very bad deal & you know where we are with North Korea. I think the same thing would be true in the case of Iran,” he said, “they just chanted ‘Death to America’ a few days ago on the streets of Tehran, the same streets where they’re rejoicing right now.”

Obama and Bibi dig in over Iran deal

    Apr 06, 2015 Go comment!
For President Obama, the framework agreement reached last Thursday with Iran is an “historic understanding” that does more to roll back Tehran’s nuclear programme than any possible alternative and avoids the risk of a destructive war in the Middle East. But to Israeli PM Netanyahu, it’s the complete opposite: a pact that “threatens the survival of Israel” and would “increase the risks of nuclear proliferation in the region and the risks of a horrific war.” Read what else was said...

The five-person Project-W faction on the Wits SRC making up 40 per cent of the SRC, were never consulted and have, in fact, issued a statement this week to say that their members distance themselves from the City Of Johannesburg's "Palestinian Solidarity Week". Their leader, commonly known as "Mighti Jamie" made some serious allegations regarding the governance of the SRC in this open letter and, in fact, also delivered a letter of concern to VC Habib who immediately instituted an inquiry regarding Jamie's very serious claims. Jewish Report understands there are claims of SRC funds being used to support BDS and IAW - as was the case at Rhodes some years back.
