    Gerald Leissner will be remembered

    Gerald Leissner, “Mr Community”, considered one of South African Jewry’s top leaders, passed away on Friday, December 16 in Johannesburg at the age of 74. He was buried in West Park Jewish Cemetery on the same day. He was a past recipient of a Jewish Achiever award.

    WHO rates IDF field hospitals world’s best

    Long recognised worldwide as a leader in field-medicine and disaster relief, the Israeli Defence Forces’ (IDF) field hospital just solidified its position by achieving the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) first-ever Type-3 rating, the highest score the United Nations medical arm can give. “The world should learn from Israel how to operate in disaster areas with the right ethics," said WHO head.

    Israeli expat, fiery Zionist and blogger Rolene Marks says “The streets of Paris are silent.” So, too, she points out in “London, Rome, New York, Johannesburg, Buenos Aires, Barcelona and countless cities around the world.” Nobody has shown up en masse to protest the genocide in Syria. The streets are devoid of people and indignation.
