Eliasov, a former MMA champion and specialist psychiatrist, enthralled the audience with her tale of being a medical professional, and then brawling in a cage.

“I had to keep my involvement in MMA a secret from my Jewish mom to spare her the hysteria. When I kept coming back with bruises, she thought I’d married badly, but when the fight was due to be screened on TV, I had to tell her. Of course, I tranquillised her first.”

The shul is based on the first floor of Kosher World, and holds services every Friday night.
