Olivia holds her own among world’s best

Olivia Bernstein, 16 years old and in grade 11 at Herzlia High School in Cape Town, was recently awarded National Protea colours for chess and presented South Africa at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, from June 30 until July 9.

She did very nicely and held her own in a field of Grandmasters and Commonwealth countries’ top-rated players. Herzlia is very proud of her. 

Olivia will also represent South Africa at the World Youth Chess Championships in September.
