Sydenham spreads the Madiba love

The parents and children of Sydenham Hebrew Pre-Primary School made and packed a record 674 sandwiches in 67 minutes on a freezing cold Friday morning last week, to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s birthday on July 18.

Linda Twala (the “Mayor” of Alex) and his associates, collected the sandwiches along with toys, books and clothes, donated by the parents and children at the school and distributed them among the many needy children of Alexandra.
