    Neo-Nazi radio show The Daily Shoah (also known as "echoes" among anti-Semites) started some two years ago clandestinely spreading the word as to how neo-Nazi groups can target Jews online. Earlier this month, website Mic.com published an exposé on how this works – and over the past two weeks more and more Jews are rebranding themselves with pride - in solidarity with their tagged kinfolk.

    The Shabbos Project has become a grassroots project with a life of its own - driven by the people for the people! Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein was a guest of honour at the Conference of European Rabbis in Vienna, Austria recently, as well as at the annual Rabbinical Conference in France. “It reflects our own community’s growing standing as an important part of the global Jewish community,” Rabbi Goldstein said on his return.     In the Queen's 90th Birthday Honours List, some 1149 people have been recognised for their services to the UK and the 16 Commonwealth countries. Each year the honours are awarded as part of the Queen's Official Birthday celebrations during June. London mayor Sadiq Khan heaped praise on a young awardee, Neil Martin. Sadiq's first official engagement after his appointment was to attend the Yom Hashoah commemoration - which was organised by a body that Martin chairs.

    One of the greatest postwar playwrights, Sir Peter Levin Shaffer, died on June 6 at the age of 90 while on a trip to Ireland from his Lancashire home. He gave the world masterpieces such as Amadeus and Equus.

He enjoyed close relationships with Jewry, including his trainer, promoter, sports-casters and other celebs. This, according to a statement issued by the Presidency after Zuma hosted Abbas at his official Cape Town residence, Tuynhuys, last week. Abbas is pictured, left, speaking at a UN-sponsored conference in Turkey the day prior to his arrival in SA.
