Batmitzvah girls rise to the occasion with challah

Crawford Preparatory Sandton’s Batmitzvah programme culminated in a daughter-mother challah bake with their Jewish Studies and Hebrew teachers, Morah Lindsay Rosen and Morah Heather Bank.

Tova Goldstein, who conducted the workshop, showed the young ladies how to make the challah and the symbolism attached to each step including the history of the two loaves, and the separation of challah for the kohanim.
