The Sandton Barmitzvah programme, run by Rabbi Sruli Kaufman of the Sandton Shul, partnered with Feed SA, a non-profit organisation working to reduce hunger, in hosting a chesed (kindness) soccer event at Discovery Soccer Park, Wanderers.

About 25 Barmitzvah boys, mostly from King David Sandton, and 25 young teens from Munsieville, Krugersdorp, battled it out in a friendly soccer tournament.

The boys found common ground in their shared love for the game.

“It was wonderful to see the boys engaging with one another, having fun and laughing together,” said Kaufman.
