Israel lost over 11 citizens between October 1 and 29 in the spate of suicide stabbings, ramming incidents and shootings, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs. A further 129 were wounded, 17 of them were still seriously so by October 29. A total of 69 Palestinians were killed in the month, according to AlJazeera.com.
While statistics in terms of number of attacks are hard to come by, as Israel only reports attacks which result in injury or death of its citizens, the fact is that random attacks are increasing – but fewer injuries and deaths are occurring.
Disappointed in the ‘failure’ of the pace of killing by stabbing, Hamas asked West-Bankers last month to drop their knives and instead commit incidents of car-ramming – to ensure higher Jewish casualties. Read our October 19 story: Forget knives, let’s have more car-rammings
The following is a summary supplied to Jewish Report by Magen David Adom (MDA, Israel’s medical emergency service) activity from October 1 to November 8, 2015:
MDA teams provided medical treatment to 170 casualties of whom 11 have died and 159 were injured. 26 of these were in severe condition, 22 in mild condition, 111 were in light condition. In addition, say MDA, their teams have assisted 72 people with stress symptoms resulting from the attacks.
It is encouraging to note that no further deaths seem to have been reported between October 29 and November 8.
