The concert is the culmination of Education Africa and Sydenham Shul’s year-long initiative to raise funds to establish marimba hubs in disadvantaged schools. King David’s junior and senior bands participated, with the youngest member in Grade 4, and the oldest in Grade 10.

The theme of the concert this year was “Friends Forever”, and the highlight was when the entire cast came on stage for the finale, to perform a song, That’s What Friends are For, made famous by Dionne Warwick in 1985.
