At King David Linksfield Preprimary School, we celebrated our own Soccer World Cup day.

Parents were invited to attend and we began by observing a minute’s silence for the slain teens in Israel. This was followed by the singing of Hatikvah, which was very moving at this time.

We then had an opening ceremony. Each class represented a country and dressed in that country’s specific colours. They all did a lovely dance and then the games began. The field was set out with a variety of ball skill games and the grade Rs played a soccer match.

After all the activity, there was a tuck shop provided by our PTA moms, where refreshments and memorabilia could be purchased. The morning was enjoyed by all and it was an amazing learning experience for the children.
