Kayla Michal, from Torah Academy Primary School, created the winning project at The Grand Pirkei Avos Expo on 18 June. Hosted by Tzivos Hashem South Africa (an organisation that encourages children in living a Torah-based life), the expo celebrated the culmination of the four-week long Pirkei Avos (Ethics of our Fathers) study programme.
Students from Jewish schools designed and created projects based on a Mishnah that they took to heart. The projects were on display, with the winning project decided by a judging panel.
Devorah Leah Wineberg, the director of Tzivos Hashem, was inspired by the number of schools and students from a diverse spread of the community that got involved in this initiative.
