‘Women have the power to combat darkness’

Gabriela Mendelson taught the grade 6 girls at Crawford Preparatory Sandton, that women lighting candles have the power to literally combat darkness, especially during these difficult times.

She explained that the word NeSHeK is the Hebrew word for ammunition and stands for Nerot Shabbat Kodesh – lighting Shabbos candles. The girls thoroughly enjoyed her presentation on candle-lighting.
