Banning of Limmud attendance dictatorial

The Beth Din endorsement of the Rabbinical Association’s banning of “its rabbis” from attending or teaching at Limmud is not surprising, albeit disappointing.

It’s one thing for rabbis to decide not to attend Limmud, which is their prerogative and right, but to be instructed by a directive is unseemly and dictatorial.

It reminds me of Ronald Reagan’s comment with reference to the bankrupt Soviet Union, when he aptly stated that they “have to build walls to keep their people in”.
