Let Jews of different persuasions learn to respect each other

I’ve been quite taken aback by recent letters in the Jewish Report. Strife between people with differing opinions is not new; strife between Jews is not new; furthermore, strife between Orthodox and Reform is also not new.

Chances are that the Orthodox will not convince a Reform to lead life the Orthodox way, nor will Reform convince one of Orthodox convictions to lead life their way. We know this.

Can we please accept this and move on? Can we please accept that people are all different and we cannot walk in one another’s shoes… therefore we cannot judge each other.

Please, may Jews everywhere, treat each other with kindness. We as Jews, are on the same team!

We have had enemies from the time of Abraham, the first Jew and it continues in harrowing ways until today.

Please can we not fight among ourselves. Division will weaken us. We need unity – achdus!
