Soul Simchah raises spirit of Jewish music

The Yiddish Folk Choral rocked the stage and audience alike at the Soul Simchah concert again organised by Joburg Jewish outreach organisation Soul Workout

The evening was ablaze with soul and music and the sound of voices permeated the night sky. The event was the Soul Simchah concert put on for the second year running by Soul Workout, the Jewish outreach organisation.

More than 400 people attended a feast of songs from a variety of artists and groups. Adam Davis, Ezra Altschuler and Ilan Herrmann featured as the soloists and two youth groups, the Young Jewish Stars under cantor Ezra Sher and the Yiddish Folk Choral ensured that the event again a highlight on the Jewish calendar. 

“Succot is the time of unity and joy and that’s what Soul Simchah is all about, bringing the community together and raising the spirits through Jewish music” says Ilan Herrmann the organiser. I am already looking forward to next year which will be even bigger and better.”
