The world does not care one iota about Israelis

Published

Myron Robinson
Hague was British Foreign Secretary. In November 2011 he urged Israel to both exercise restraint during that Gaza crisis and warned that country that if it sent troops into Gaza to confront Hamas, it risked losing the sympathy of the international community.

He also urged Israel to exercise a proportionate response to the daily rocket and other attacks on Israel at that time.

President Obama has made similar comments during his presidency in respect of Operation Protective Edge and Hague, in so far as I am aware, has not changed his viewpoint since his statement in 2011.

The question I wish to raise is: “If Israel must exercise restraint and act proportionally in response to the daily attacks against it, what moral right has the US – with British and other support – to attack ISIS 3000km away when only two of its citizens were murdered?”

While I support the action taken by the US against ISIS, it shows that the world does not care one iota what happens to Israelis as long as their own citizens are not killed.

It reminds me of the Megillah of Esther when the decree against killing Jews was not withdrawn, but if attacked the Jews could defend themselves.

‘Absolutely correct Myron. However, I think Bibi has got the idea now and next time(there will be a next time) [Whooah, Nat, you can’t go around saying that! –ED]. Any place where Hamas chooses to fire its rockets. The Palestinians will never learn and eventually will be chased out of Gaza.Actually, Avigdor Lieberman is my man. He will deliver scuba gear to Gaza so that they can swim.
\nAs for Obama, he hasn’t got long to go and the Republicans will support Israel 100%. ‘

‘# nat cheiman —  In my opinion, the major power in the Republican party only want to benefit the arms industry and the large corporations in America — they don’t really care about Israel, when it comes to the crunch, but do need us as the buffer in the middle east, and therefor support us . The Israeli’s are a pawn in the game , who happen to benefit from the advantage created, by America’s obsession with military power. We also are lucky to have a strong lobby in the USA, as well as a number of Jewish senators and members of Congress.

We should never be excited by the powers that be in Washington — they are first and foremost there for themselves – just watch them over the 12 months prior to an election.’
