UK men seem to be keen challah bakers
An interesting bit of trivia which I could not help noticing in the photographs in last week’s Jewish Report, was that at the Challah Bake in the UK, there seemed to be as many men making challah as there were women!

If I am not mistaken, in Johannesburg I think I may actually have spotted one man – but with over 5 000 women and girls spread under the umbrellas and twinkling lights, over an enormous area at the Norwood Hyper, and my table being at the entrance point, I most certainly did not see it all.
Perhaps there were a few men dotted around?
Just as well the Johannesburg guys did not join in – I doubt whether double the number of participants could have been accommodated!
