Cooking up a storm at an ORT fundraiser

ORT SA recently hosted a fundraising cooking demonstration in aid of its ORT JET programmes. It was aimed at aspirant chefs looking for Pesach cooking ideas. Stacey Baron of Stacey Baron Catering and Sharon Lurie, “The Kosher Butcher’s Wife”, gave demonstrations of salads, meat roasts and sauces which were then tasted by the guests.

The event took place in a beautiful private home in Houghton under a Johannesburg autumn sky. Décor ideas for table settings were presented by Natasha Jacobson and kosher le Pesach nougat and marshmallows were donated by Ooh la la. Bev Milun practised her spot-on numeric profiling on some guests.

Goodie bags included Sally Williams nougat and kitchenware from Busby were given to each participant.

ORT JET’s programmes enable and assist the continued growth of small businesses in the Jewish community.
