EFF condemns illegal and unjustified Israeli-US attacks on Iran

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) condemns in the strongest terms the provocative, illegal, and unjustified attacks on Iran, which have been conducted by the genocidal state of Israel and collaboration with the United States of America (USA). All reports suggest that the latest round of attacks were aimed at eliminating top Iranian government officials, in an attempt to ultimately undermined the sovereignty of Iran. 

The Israeli-US alliance has engaged in illegal strikes in the capital of Iran, Tehran, an act that will undoubtedly escalate tensions in the Middle-East and ultimately result in war. These attacks come on the back of consistent and inhumane acts of violence and ethnic cleansing which have occurred in Palestine, perpetuated by the same alliance, which is hell-bent on securing Israeli interests across the region regardless of the human cost. 

The attacks by Israel and the US on Iran with specific interest in eliminating its leadership, follow the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, who presumably remain captive as no nation can confirm with any authority that they are still alive. The Israeli-US alliance has bestowed upon themselves the authority to overthrow world leaders, and the world is silent. 

The EFF is clear that not only is this war, which Israel has falsely declared as preemptive, yet another violation of international law, it is once again a reminder that the United States has become a proxy of Israeli interests and enters into wars without any congressional approval. It is for this reason that the US has adopted diplomatic and economic aggression against any nation that condemns the acts of Israel, because of the simple fact that US foreign policy is determined in Tel Aviv. 

We call on the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to immediately evacuate all South African citizens who are currently in Israel and Iran, as Israel has committed to further attacks in Tehran over the next four-days. It is irresponsible that at this stage, there is yet to be any coordinated effort to ensure the safety of our citizens in a predictable war. 

We further call on Israeli citizens to appreciate that their government is an aggressor of war, and as Israel declares a state of emergency, the people of Israel must remember that it is their nation which provoked Iran and any retaliation will be the fault of their genocidal leaders. 

For too long Israelis have been complicit as their leaders’ wage war on the innocent and provoke their neighbours. The resounding message from all people of the world must be that peace must be pursued as a priority, but in the face of attempts at regime change, and the silence of the world to the atrocities committed by Israel, Iran like any other nation has the right to defend itself.
