‘Selwyn’s Eagles’ have landed, as champs

Selwyn Segal Soccer team trounced all and came home to hero’s welcome

The Selwyn Segal Soccer team, ‘Selwyn’s Eagles’ participated in the Johannesburg Disability Games held recently at the Danie van Zyl Centre in Johannesburg.
 
The Eagles trounced their opponents scoring 3:0 in the first game and 1:0 in the final game making them the champions of the match.

They received a hero’s welcome on their return! “No Bafana team has ever had such admiring fans,” says the Chev’s Celeste Everitt. “It was a wonderful day at Selwyn Segal – so many achievements for people who others seldom see as winners.”

General Manager Brenda Solarsh said: “Our team are inspired to play more sport and we are inspired to provide more opportunities for them to be on the winning side – special Olympics, here we come!”
