On Friday December 4, the Lion of Judah chapter of Keren Hayesod-UIA’s International Women’s Division of Cape Town, gathered at Coffee Time at the Astra Centre to listen to honorary president of Keren Hayesod, Julia Koschitzky, a global Jewish leader and philanthropist from Canada.

“Lions” are recognised by the special Lion-shaped pins or necklaces which they wear on such occasions, indicating their significant level of support to Keren Hayesod-UIA projects.

Julia honoured Jill Kaplan for recently receiving the Tifereth Lion of Judah award and highlighted how she is the second woman, next to Sheila Samson, in the Cape Town community to receive this.

By sharing her experiences of community development, philanthropic interests both locally and globally, and her passion for her family and the Jewish people, Julia left the local Lions inspired and honoured to be members of Lion of Judah.

Julia Koschitzky also welcomed two new Lions into the group.
