`* Pine Street Shul is hosting a Yom Yerushalayim function with the theme “Jerusalem Through Time”. Cantor Ezra Sher will present a repertoire on Jerusalem, to be followed by a DVD “Mekonen”. The journey of an African Jews who became an officer in the IDF. Then a short film “Beneath the Helmet”. Time: 20:00 sharp. Cost: R75 pp. Payment at the door. There will be light refreshments. Sunday (June 5)

 

* JJAC invites Jewish singles aged 27 – 49 to watch the French Open Men’s Tennis final at Metzyuan. E-mail whatson@jjac.co.za for details

* JAFFA’s morning market at the home in Baileys Muckleneuk in Pretoria, takes place from 09:00 – 12:30. There will be different stalls to browse and buy from, second-hand clothing, bric-à-brac, refreshments, tombola, books and much more.

 

* JH&GC in partnership with the Czech Embassy hosts a talk by Zuzana Pavlovská on “The Life of Survivors and the Jewish Community in Czechoslovakia after 1945” and opening of the exhibition “Don’t Lose Faith in Mankind”. * WIZO Forum hosts “Yom Yerushalayim – Walk With us ‘Under’ the Holy City” We will embark on a discovery of the 4 000-year history of the city.
