A strong case for a university in Brakpan

Published

Ernest Waner

I have been working towards the establishment of a university in Brakpan for the past five years and approached him, the Deputy Minister, the President, the Deputy President, (ANC Secretary-General) Gwede Mantashe, the Mayor and hundreds of other influential people and not one them has been to see what exactly I am talking about.

There are three important reasons why we promote a university for Ekurhuleni in Brakpan:

  1. Most of the infrastructure is already in place and won’t cost billions of rands to establish.
  2. There is no need for accommodation as students will attend classes in the day and return home at night.
  3. The university could be running in record time. All that is required are the teachers and an administration (by becoming a satellite of an established university).

The minister is upset about not being granted a visa for Palestine, but here in Brakpan he would be welcomed with open arms to come and see what we are talking about for the establishment of a university and for that he won’t require a visa.

Although Brakpan may seem so far away from Johannesburg, Tshwane, eThekwini and Cape Town culturally and scholastically, it will make a lot of sense to establish a university in Brakpan for Ekurhuleni, as it is the fourth largest metro in the country by way of population and economically it leads many of the other metros.

‘Mantashe and the ANC do not want to educate the black masses, in my opinion.

Reason; Educated people can count, and they will see that the ANC cannot balance its books because of corruption and theft. Keep things simple and rather go to Palestine where you are not really needed. Also, someone should inform Gwede, that unless he converts to Islam, he will be an infidel. He should make enquiries whether to be a Sunni or Shiite. That too is important. Being Minister of Higher Education really means that you are a minister but in other parts of the world.

In the meantime, KISS (  Keep it simple stupid).

Another reason not to go to Brakpan is that you go by car (blue light convoy). How boring. Better to use Zuma’s jet and get a freebie overseas.

mantashe is just using his seichel.
