CSO message

The CSO is aware of the attack that took place in Sydney earlier today.

Our thoughts are with those killed and injured and their families.

We are monitoring the situation and any potential impact it could have locally.

We are continually updating our threat assessments and plans as the situation on the ground evolves. We are in contact with the organisers of all Chanukah events and are reviewing our plans again to ensure they can proceed safely.

Although the environment we face is increasingly complex, it is important to know that the CSO’s committed staff and volunteers remain at the community’s service.

We remain unshakably steadfast in our mission, which is “protecting Jewish life and the Jewish way of life.”

  • Liron Sanders is the chief executive officer of the CSO (Johannesburg).

    Shalom
Please will you ask the CSO to contact me. I am member of the East London Hebrew Congregation. We discussed this tragedy in Sydney last night at Chanukah and I would like to volunteer to assist our community.

    warm regards
    Johan
