One can take for granted that questions such as “Who is a Jew” and “What belief makes one a Zionist” will forever defy exact definition.

Israel policy: ANC schizophrenia at play has been well read and some breadcrumbs of comments have been left in their wake. Our scoop on the plethora of new activity in the sequestration, striking and claims of the Bobroffs has been the top read but only had one comment. This is likely less indicative of the split in the community on this issue (which would lead to many comments) than the fact that several previous commentators have asked us to take down their posts due to social and/or legal threats.

Rabbi Ben Isaacson’s letter: Regarding Donald Trump: Welcome to ‘freedom to de-press’ has drawn virulent and mixed reactions – take a look and have your say too. Another rabbi drew numerous comments from users.

Rabbi Ari Kievman’s Thank you, South Africa! was well read and created a bit of an argy-bargy with users differing on their interpretation of his piece. But hey, we are Jews, that’s what we do – we like nothing less than a good argument and we are ALL always right!

President Zuma was also subject to some lambasting from the community after he said to South Africans at the ANC’s 105th birthday bash: ‘Don’t visit Israel’ which understandably made the hairs stand up on the back of SA Jewry’s necks.
