‘Royal Shabbos’ feast at Sydenham

Sydenham Pre-Primary School’s theme of Castles, Dragons, Kings and Queens ended on a high note last week. Everyone dressed up in the appropriate attire and to mark the event, everyone participated in a “Royal Shabbos” celebration.

Rabbi Yossy Goldman joined in the festivities and blew the shofar as it is the month of Elul.

While the children dined with kings and queens, Rabbi Goldman explained to them that Hashem is the ultimate King and Shabbos is the Queen and during the month of Elul the King is very near and everyone should try and do as many mitzvot as possible.

To achieve the “royal feast”, the children were served jelly and custard after enjoying their challah and carrots.
