Suffer the Children is writing one can feel

Rolene says that she has been sitting in front of her computer “wondering how to write this”. Would her words do enough justice to express what Israelis are feeling right now, she wonders.

As Israel endures a wave of terror that, says Rolene, some are calling the “Knife Intifada” – she tells us what it feels like living in Israel at this time.

Her piece on such brutal and cruel activity is highly emotive and well worth a read. It is also well-illustrated with pictures and graphics. Suffer the Children will tear at the heartstrings of any reader.

“Several days ago we had five attacks before 15:00,” writes Rolene. “Many of us are writing. We are trying to come to terms with the brutality and futility of it all. Barely a day has gone by without breaking news of yet another stabbing, car ramming or shooting.”

The event has claimed 28 Israeli lives to date and has had a big impact on the psyche of the people. They don’t show it, but it has.

“I have felt a range of emotions. Rage. Rage at the mistrust this is causing between Jews and Arabs and the ever widening chasm that is growing between our two communities. Disbelief. Utter shock that while this is happening, the world is silent yet again. Jewish lives do not seem to have the same value as others.”
