Minyan and meaning – Diamond Implements NAMPO stand

For the second consecutive year, Diamond Implements hosted a heartfelt minyan at its 2025 NAMPO stand, marking a poignant moment during South Africa’s largest annual agricultural trade show near Bothaville in the Free State. The gathering was an expression of community and support, particularly for Gary Mindel as he said kaddish for his late father on Wednesday, 14 May.

What began modestly last year with just 10 participants has now nearly doubled, with 19 attendees coming together in a show of solidarity and shared values. Following the mincha service, participants enjoyed a spirited l’chaim, and ate kosher pastrami sandwiches provided by Izzy Goldfein from Kerizzma Steel.

The atmosphere embodied the principles of Diamond Implements since its inception in 1974 by cousins Leiz Isakow and Saul Diamond, joined later by Leiz’s son, Issac Isakow. Originally cattle farmers from Eloff, near Delmas, the company initially imported feed mixers from Lachish Enterprises in Israel before evolving into a renowned local manufacturer of feed mixers.

Today, Diamond Implements is led by Larry Cohen, whose partners include Marc Ber, originally from Delmas, and Saki Macozoma. Together, they carry the company’s legacy forward, rooted in heritage, people, and purpose.
