WIZO fundraising drive meets its target

The Women’s International Zionist Organisation (WIZO) Johannesburg reached its target of raising R2 million in just 48 hours on 16 and 17 February.

The funds raised in WIZO’s charity drive will assist children at risk in Israel, and go towards the partnership with Israeli nongovernmental organisation Wheelchairs of Hope to bring specially designed, all-terrain wheelchairs to many South Africans in need.

WIZO’s dedicated team took over the Beyachad boardroom in Joburg, converting it into a buzzing call-centre. Members worked tirelessly to ensure that WIZO reached its target. They described it as a wonderful feeling knowing that they would be able to make a tangible, positive change to the lives of those who really need it.

WIZO thanks its organisers, volunteers, and generous donors, without whom none of this would have been possible.
